About the project

ROCCA is a restaurant in Sochi, on the Black Sea coast of Russia, with a warm, natural atmosphere and an expressive architectural base. The concept is built around the image of stone, southern greenery and soft evening light.

The interior combines textured grey-beige plaster, relief stone surfaces, light natural stone, wood, brass, ceramics and woven textures. The palette holds calm natural tones — sand, warm grey-beige, olive-grey, wood and soft brass. The space is intimate, tactile and premium, without visual noise.

The main idea was to create a restaurant where the southern resort mood is not obvious, but reveals itself through materials, light, greenery and the connection to the nature of the coast.

What was considered

A complete interior concept was developed for all the main zones of the restaurant: the entrance, the host area, the main hall, the bar, the open kitchen, the private dining room, the waiting area, the guest restrooms and the veranda.

The entrance has a monolithic light-stone host desk, an accent relief wall, a restrained ROCCA sign, vertical wood and brass slats and delicate greenery. The main hall is a warm, natural space with several seating scenarios — separate tables, soft armchairs and banquettes, relief stone and diffused light. The bar is a more intimate evening accent with a backlit shelf and brass details.

The open kitchen is conceived as the gastronomic centre of the restaurant; the private room is for intimate dinners. Special attention was given to the veranda: planters with olive, laurel, myrtle and rosemary create a natural southern atmosphere tied to the sea. A single lighting scenario — concealed light, local light over the tables and the warm light of the bar — unites all zones into one calm, premium environment.
